The Chazon Opportunities Centre Uganda (COCU-Uganda) is a not-for-profit organization founded and registered in 2024, with its headquarters in Bugiri and operations across all 11 districts of Busoga. COCU-Uganda is committed to fostering sustainable development, improving livelihoods, and empowering communities in the region

Inspired by the work of economist and philosopher Amartya Sen, we believe in the importance of expanding human capabilities and providing individuals with the opportunities to lead lives they value. This philosophy guides our approach to addressing the unique challenges faced by Busoga, including poverty, limited access to quality education, poor healthcare, environmental degradation, and human rights and gender inequality

Our focus areas include improving livelihoods, promoting sustainable natural resource management, enhancing education, supporting youth employment, and advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment. By empowering communities and individuals, we work towards breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting, positive change
